PTF Educational Curriculum

Questions?

Contact PTF Academic Coordinator,

The Preparing the Future (PTF) Educational Program provides an interprofessional didactic and service-learning curriculum that seeks to mobilize the academic and professional community to address the HIV epidemic. Designed to enhance the expertise of current and emerging healthcare professionals within six disciplines (medicine, law, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and social work), this curriculum is built to educate, empower and engage the healthcare workforce with the tools and hands-on experience needed to achieve the goals of the National HIV and AIDS Strategy (NHAS).

Participants will:

  1. Learn about the needs of people living with HIV and the gaps in the HIV continuum of care through an interprofessional model
  2. Integrate skills in chronic disease management and public health into their current and future practice
  3. Engage in service learning activities to gain real-life experiences and apply new knowledge and skills
  4. Be equipped to include completion of the PTF program on a professional resume or curriculum vitae
